After pimping the Chocolate Mangasm event everywhere he went, Peter will never be the same. He was broken up about missing Mimosa Madness on Saturday morning, but really, the guy obviously needed the break from being penis paraphernalia.
Peter supervised as Lynda Aicher and I prepped for our very busy day. I mean, this was work people. Lynda organized a family reunion for 99 of Peter's relatives. Two cousins got an extra special invited to play CandyMan that afternoon, while the rest of the pricks were packed into their luxury accommodations, ready for their coming out party at Chocolate Mangasm that night.
We packed Peter and poor, neglected Paul into the same hole in my rolling bag, and headed off to CandyMan. It's like Candyland...only with book covers. And colored condoms instead of gingerbread people. To keep Team Hot Button (the table group Lynda & I decided had to be our friends. They had no hope of escape from us) interested, we placed the tiny liquor bottles Peter procured from his field trip atop our book covers as an added bonus for landing on Desire Renewed or Bonds of Courage. Yes, we turned Candyland into a drinking game. Our superpowers transcend reality.
The cousins were slipped into the gift bags we raffled off. The winners seemed overjoyed to meet their new companion. I suggested they be named Pacey or Patrick in honor of my fave Dawson's Creek and General Hospital characters.
After the game, we helped set up for the Chocolate Mangasm event. Or maybe we just wanted to stop dragging around a suitcase filled with a hundred pounds of peckers. The other participating authors got their bushwhacker a little early since they'd be manning their own game table. (Naught scrabble, anyone?)
In a last ditch effort to get rid of every last perpendicular pickle, we went to the Stick Horses in Pants Improv show. And of course when they wanted suggestions from the audience, Peter stepped up to bat. He starred in one skit as Sister Mary Joseph's priceless relic. He ended up in handcuffs. This cat sure gets around!
With everyone in a post-comedy show glow, Chocolate Mangasm got off with a bang. At our table, we invited guests to claim their cock by dressing him in a condom...without using your hands. There were special prizes for style -- gift cards for particularly happy handjobs and bullets for those who had no trouble with their blow pop.
Thank goodness there was a bar. There is no way we would have unloaded every single swizzle stick without it! I'm just glad no one mistook Peter for a Twinkie and dipped him in the fondue!
I had a great time at RomCon - I just hope readers remember Happily Bedded Bliss, and not just Peter!

RomCon 14 :: Traveling With Peter, Day Two
RomCon is all about the parties! Friday started out with Bridal Shower Mania. Peter was up bright and early so he could attend. Now, I was all about this #talesofthetravellingdong thing when I could hide behind Twitter. But to take Peter in hand and attend a party? Who wants to be known as the cock chick?
I tossed him in my bag and hoped for the best. The group of authors hosting Bridal Shower Mania with me were a fun bunch, but I kept Peter under wraps. That is, until Suzanne Graham started the purse game. You know, the shower game where you divide into teams and try to collect twenty items on a list from your purses. Lipstick, tissues, nail file... vibrator anyone?
Peter rose to the occasion for that one. Slapped his suction cup right on the table and he started making friends for the rest of the party. We made sure to let everyone know they could take home one of Peter's 100 brothers from Chocolate Mangasm on Saturday night.
We headed to the next party, The Naked Hero. I thought Peter might be needed, but some things are better left to the imagination. At the Readers Crown luncheon. Romance Rekindled was nominated for best erotica, but didn't get the trophy.
After that, Peter wanted to see more of Denver. But given the location of the hotel, the only field trip available was to the liquor store. Lynda Aicher & I grabbed some giveaways for the book signing that night, as well as some liquid courage.
Peter was much more interested in the pals Carrie Ann Ryan was passing out. Lynda Aicher brought Paul, Peter's brother, to the book signing, so I left him in the room. After all, she did arrange to bring his whole family here from China.
I wonder what Peter has in mind for the final day of RomCon...

Last of the Red Hot Cowboys by Tina Leonard BOOK BLAST
A sexy cowgirl gives a rugged Texas loner the
ride of his life in USA Today bestselling author Tina Leonard’s seductive new
series.
Ava Buchanan dreams of a career on the rodeo circuit. Winning a spot on a one-of-a-kind team would be her ticket to the life she’s always wanted. Ava won’t let anyone stand in her way—not even a stubborn cowboy whose slow-molasses smile and red-hot swagger set her senses aflame . . . and whose talents as a trainer could make her a star. Rodeo might be a man’s game, but Ava knows the right woman’s touch can tame the wildest heart.
Trace Carter believes his mayor’s plan to raise the town’s profile has disaster written all over it, and he won’t allow the Hell’s Outlaws Training Center to be dragged into the fiasco. Yet watching Ava’s delectable body on horseback proves too much of a temptation, and his fantasies stray to her riding skills outside the arena. Soon Trace is fighting like hell to rein in his unbridled desire for the petite brunette before it becomes a passion hotter than the Texas sun.
Tina will be awarding a $25 Amazon GC to three randomly drawn commenters during the tour. Comment on them all for a better chance of winning!

RomCon 14 :: Traveling With Peter, Day One
Most of the time, I attend conferences as Jenna Bayley-Burke. She's paying the bills, so she gets top billing. Fair enough, for now. But at RomCon I decided to just be Jenna, in whatever persuasion worked best at the moment - sexy contemporaries as Bayley-Burke or monogamous erotica as Allen.
And I may be biased, but Jenna Allen seemed to be the more popular of the two. Maybe because Romance Rekindled was nominated for a Readers Crown Award. Probably because of travelling companion, Peter.
Peter was a gift from the lovely Lynda Aicher, who imported 100 of his closest relatives for the Chocolate Mangasm event. I had to talk her into letting him travel in style with us, instead of in the luggage like his family. Hey, when you're used to freight class, Southwest Airlines seems like a G6.
He was much happier once we arrived in Denver and he could let it all hang out in our hotel room. So was Lynda. I think she spent the flight from Portland thinking he would make an appearance on the seat-back tray. I'll admit, I thought about it.
For everyone following the #RomCon14 hashtag on Twitter, Peter announced himself with "Denver, I am in you." He became an instant celebrity. At least with the crowd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Peter checked out the RomCon swag table before heading to dinner. He found his Halloween costume - "The doctor will see you now."

Book Blast :: A Secret Worth Keeping by LaKisha Johnson
A Secret Worth Keeping
by LaKisha
Johnson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shelby
is a career woman turned housewife who enjoys the friendships that have been
built with her 5 best friends; Camille, Lynesha, Raylin, Kerri and Chloe. They
are all career women with different businesses, husbands and even children but
something is missing and they can’t seem to find it at home, in a store or even
in a book. So, they search for this missing piece in the beds, arms, cars and
even offices of other men who don’t mind paying for what Dem Dam Divas can
offer. They enjoy the thrill of sneaking, creeping and even vacationing on
someone else’s dime but they soon find out that all good things come to an end.
What happens when it becomes too much? From secretly wanting someone who
doesn’t want you, loving only to not be loved back and being caught up in a
dream that you’re about to be awaken from; will it be worth it in the end? Will
they regret their actions or stand by them? Will they finally question whether
this secret is really worth keeping?
Excerpt :
Girls, this has been an amazing trip. I’m kind of sad that it’s ending but I am
ready to get home to see my babies.
“Well, good for you; I can’t say the same,” said Kerri.
“Listen ladies, I know that these trips are supposed to be a
release to renew our minds but they do no good if you go back to home and
accept the same mess you left. If you all are not happy then make some changes.
Life is too short to keep living in hell. You all are beautiful, educated and
capable of taking care of yourselves so why continue to take less from your
husband than what your husband is supposed to do? Please don’t get me wrong, I
am in no way saying that you all should head to divorce court, however, I am
saying stop lying down and accepting everything. Stop accepting less than what
your husband should be giving. Why should you have to find part time love in
the hands of someone else? Why should you find pleasure in the bed of someone
else when your husband should be fulfilling your every fantasy and you should
be filling his?”
“Shelby, I hear you but you have all that at home, we don’t”
Chloe said with tears streaming down her face.
“Yea, you have a husband whose eyes light up when you enter
the room, one who notices your new hairdo, one who doesn’t mind shopping with
you, one who holds you when you cry, sit with you when you’re sick, stay up with
you when the baby is sick; you have all that,” Kerri added.
“Yes, I do but this is because I wouldn’t accept anything
less. Understand, we have our ups and downs but we work through them. We are
not perfect and I’d be lying if I said anything differently but he knows my
faults and accepts them and I know his and accept them.” I said.
Cooking Up A Seduction by Jenna Bayley-Burke
Love never tasted so sweet…
Sexy venture capitalist Cameron Price takes the helm of the Seattle branch of the firm to prove he has what it takes to lead the entire company. Unfortunately, his boss thinks what it takes for a workaholic like Cam is a wife!
To fend off the matrimonally inclined, Cameron has to think fast. Inspired by the dazzling green eyes of the gorgeous caterer, he proposes the kind of innovative arrangement he’s known for. If Lauren Brody will spend a few weeks on his arm networking at events, she’ll be able to raise the profile of Come For Dinner catering and book more clients than she ever dreamed.
But Lauren has a plan of her own and tempts Cameron to play along. She convinces Mr. Buttoned-Up-Tight they can have some serious fun on his piano, in his kitchen, and behind closed doors. But it’s dangerous to keep a lid on something so hot. And a relationship was never on Cameron’s agenda…
WARNING :: Indulge at your own risk! Cravings for exotic fruit, decadent delights, erotic fashion & steaming hot nights of pleasure have been reported.
Excerpt:
City lights twinkled from the floor-to-ceiling bay window. He could even hear the buzz of bustling city. She’d used more color than he’d ever thought to, blending deep red curtains with burnt orange chairs, natural wood floors and splashes of bright green in the pillows and throws on the brown chaise. From the granite countertops of her small kitchen, to the dark glass pendant lighting, everything was contemporary, yet casual. Perfectly Lauren.
“You like?” she asked, standing behind as she pulled his coat from his shoulders. He shrugged it off and turned around to face her.
"I like you.” He slid his fingers through her silken hair, tilting her head to the perfect angle.
“Good answer.” She gripped his tie, pulling him closer, but that was the last bit of control he allowed her.
He took possession of her lips. Her gasp told him his kiss was harder, more demanding than she expected, but since she followed it up with a moan as he deftly slipped her coat from her shoulders and slid his hands beneath her sweater to touch her soft, smooth skin, he knew she didn’t mind.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss with a passion that made his mind thrum with possibilities. She’d allow him anything, offered her body for his enjoyment, only asking satisfaction in return. And since he intended to explore her body fully, indulging every urge he’d stifled, that would be his pleasure.
He slid his mouth over her lips, to her jaw, nibbling at her neck, nipping at her earlobe. Everywhere he went she rewarded him with soft whimpers and breathy sighs. Her fingers pressed against his scalp as she held his head to her, her other hand struggling with the buttons on his shirt.
“Too many clothes.” Her throaty whisper made him grin.
He released her and pulled back, locking their gazes as he undid the knot in his tie. She pulled at the end, removing it in a whoosh as he set to work on the buttons of his shirt. With a naughty gleam in her eye she wrapped the ends of the tie in each hand and pulled it taut. The corner of her bottom lip disappeared between her teeth.
Cameron shook his head. “No way. I’m using my hands tonight.”
“I was thinking for me. I don’t know how much more foreplay I can take before I knock you to the ground and have my way with you.” She stepped closer, placing the tie in his hands. “This way I’d have to take it. Make me wait, Cameron.”
College confused me. I went in determined to become an orthopedic surgeon, and came out with a triple major – Psychology, Religious Studies, and English. Thank goodness organic chemistry mystified me, or my life might have turned out completely different. Or not. I always wanted to write, it just seemed like a far away goal – a someday not a today.
After managing department stores and executive recruiting, I got lucky and had my first of three children. After two years of fertility treatments, I wanted to be with him as much as I could and opted to stay home. I started writing then, and developing recipes for magazines like Cooking Light and Better Homes & Gardens.
After my second son was born I had a health crisis, and as I lay in the ER I worried about what my boys would make of the things I’d left behind. Stories started and never finished, notes on novels never written, not to mention the rolls of film I’d yet to develop and put in albums. Grateful for life and high on pain meds, I was making some brave decisions. Like writing a book in a month for National Novel Writers Month (NaNoWriMo).
That book (after much editing) became my first romance novel, JUST ONE SPARK, published by Mills & Boon in 2006. COOKING UP A SEDUCTION followed, as have a series of single-title romances from Samhain Publishing (HER CINDERELLA COMPLEX, PAR FOR THE COURSE, COMPROMISING POSITIONS, PRIDE & PASSION, PRIVATE SCANDAL, FOR KICKS, and DRIVE ME CRAZY).
COMPROMISING POSITIONS will always hold a special place in my heart, not because it sat atop the Amazon Bestseller list for two weeks, but because it was the story I was writing when I got sick, the half-finished book I worried my boys would find and wonder why I hadn’t completed it. Nothing compares to showing my kids that when you have a dream you chase it, catch it, hold on with both hands, and never let go.
